Hi, my sister has moved into a new home and is going for a very feminine look in her bedroom. I spotted this oval topped table at Goodwill for $15.00 and hoped she would want to have me refinish it.
Sorry but I forgot to take a pic when I brought it home. Just pretend you don't see the sanding on the legs.

I took pictures of her bed with my phone to try and match stains. (I really don't recommend this method.) Luckily, she found the paperwork for her bed and told me the manufacturer called the finish Honey Maple.
My small sander was a god send on this table!
Monica requested I stencil the top. I looked something feminine but not too busy. This is stencil is used for ceilings. Unfortunately, this type of stencil actually adheres to the surface and can only be used once - Gulp.

For a change, I actually read the directions several times. The key is to use that little plastic square they included, and to pre and post smooth the stencil. Setting the sticky side down is a two person job.

Acrylic paint creep had me worried but after more smoothing and gently removing the second liner paper, the paint when on beautifully.
Taking the stencil off after painting was allot different than with a thicker stencil. After the paint dried, I stained over the paint and put on three coats of semi-gloss polyurethane.
She loved it!
