I saw these pebble table runners and it was love at first sight, but did not want to pay the big price tag that went along with buying one. So I tried to make my own.
I used rubber back lining off an old set of block out curtains that I no longer used and an old net curtain and sewed them together. I sewed them together at 10cm intervals to secure them to each other. I cut them to the size of the runner I wanted. I used the net curtain so that the glue had something extra to attach too.
I bought a bag of flat river pebbles from my local garden centre and gave them a good wash to get all the dust off them, so that the glue would stick to them better. And used a hot glue gun to glue them on to the fabric. This process took a few hours to complete. I started doing the edges first then filled in the middle.
The final results were beautiful and made my dressing table look great.

I've always wanted to do a mosiac walkway but can no longer get down and up to make one. I think I'll take your technique and do the table runner a la mosaic!
