I enjoy a decorated front porch but I don't like to spend a ton of money to get it. Creative thinking and using mostly pieces that I have really came together this year and in my opinion, made a gorgeous Christmas Front Porch.

If you love the video, I'd absolutely love it if you'd follow my Youtube channel!

You can't really appreciate the after until you see what using most of the same pieces looked like previous. Let's take a look at that first!
Earlier this year, we had new doors installed and that made the world of difference in updating our space. The original doors were dated and leaked. The interior entryway was dark because of the decorative glass of the old doors and the over-hang on the front porch. I desperately wanted to allow some light in and make the whole space (both inside and out) more welcoming. You'd be surprised but this update didn't cost a ton. Read all about how much the exterior door update was on my blog!
Over the past 18 months, we've replaced the old rug and bench. Both had seen lots of wear and tear and it was just time for replacements. Both of the replacements are similar in style and color to the old.
To get the Christmas feel to the space, I used an old scarf and tied it to a sled that I had. I had a plaid blanket that I picked up years ago at a garage sale for super cheap. I draped the blanket over the bench and added a buffalo check pillow case cover (that I had sewn out of scraps years ago!). All three of these fabric items wash really well and are inexpensive, making them great options to add texture to the porch.
I always string a lighted garland across the top of the doors and hang wreaths. I think that's one of the simplest things to do and it just adds so much charm.

The DIY planter boxes get 4ft Christmas trees and at night, they get plugged in and are so cheery! I've had the Christmas trees for years and they are still going strong!
Whether you have a porch area like I do, or just a front door with a walkway... get creative and decorate your space. You don't have to put up a lot to make it feel like Christmas... I think that just a wreath and garland gives off enough cheer to be welcoming!
