Retro Star Christmas Jars

Most of us have a huge collection of mason jars and I found a super simple way to use them for the holidays. I actually decorated some mason jars with ghosts on Halloween with candles and set them up on my porch and they were a huge hit. I decided to do something similar for Christmas and love how cute they turned out.

You'll want to use clean, dry glass jars for this project. I used both mason jars and old pickle jars.

Pull out your adhesive vinyl and cut into skinny strips.

Use 4 pieces to create one of these retro stars.

Add lots of stars! I used solid color vinyl and iridescent vinyl and love the mix.

I used yarn and ribbon to decorate the jars. You can also add pom poms, tassels, bells, fringe, lace and/or ornaments.

I used my jars as candle holders, but you can use them to hold ornaments, bells, cookies... anything you can think of.

You can also add the lids and fill with tissue paper and a gift and then tie with a ribbon.

Here is a picture of the ghost mason jars I used on Halloween. They looked so cool when it got dark out and since the jars were so much taller than the candles, they blocked the wind from blowing them out.
