Dollar Store Mirrors and Wooden Skewers Combined Create Pretty Starburst mirrors.
I purchased a pretty but inexpensive mirror (top middle above) and put it on the wall. I was disappointed with how small it was. I was lucky to find that mirror so cheap. I could not find anything within my budget to add to the mirror to create a more substantial grouping. I knew the look I wanted and I tracked down items that would mimic that look.
I apologize for the picture. It's hard to take a picture of a mirror! I found this mirror at the dollar store. It's intended to be used under candles.
I purchased these at the same time thinking I might want an octagon mirror but eventually chose the round mirror. Square mirrors turned on the diagonal and used as diamonds would be fun.
I found my skewers at the grocery store for $1 but craft skewers like the ones pictured can be found at most any craft store.
I brushed a little gold paint on the skewers and let them dry then I broke them into different lengths and glued them to the back of the mirror with hot glue. If a more uniform color is desired spray paint would be perfect!
I attached velcro picture hangers to the wall and the back of the mirror so no nail holes either!
Pretty starburst mirrors add to sparkle.
Here is a closeup of the finished product. I get compliments on them all the time. I'm constantly asked where I BOUGHT them.
