Today i am going to show you how to create 2 gorgeous candy dishes. These candy dishes can be perfect for a dessert table at a wedding, anniversary party, bridal shower, baby shower or any special event. They can also be great gifts for the holidays or birthdays. Also, you can use them as home decor.
Check out the video above to learn how to create these beautiful candy jars OR you could always just read the step by step guide below.
You will need 2 glass jars with lids and 2 glass candlestick holders. Make sure you wash the jars, the lids, and the candle holders with warm water and soap before painting. This will help the paint adhere better.
Next, cover the bottom of the lids with painters tape so you don't get any paint on this area.
Then, on a well ventilated area spray paint the lids and the candle holders with the silver spray paint. For drying time follow instructions on the can of spray paint.
Next, cut the diamond wrap as well as the purple bling ribbons into single strips. you will need quite a few of these.
To decorate the larger lid, use a hot glue gun to glue 3 rows of the silver bling ribbon follow by a single strip of the purple bling ribbon. Continue this pattern until you cover the entire lid.
Here is what the lid looks like. I added 3 more rows of the purple bling ribbon to the top of the lid.
Now lets decorate the smaller lid. For this, use the hot glue gun to glue 3 rows of the silver bling ribbon. Glue 2 rows of the ribbon on the top of the lid and one around the outer edge of the lid. Then use the E6000 glue or any other strong glue to glue the pin to the top of the lid.
Now let's decorate the candlestick holders. For this one, cut a 3 row strip of the silver bling ribbon, and use the hot glue gun to glue it to the top portion of the candle holder. Then glue a purple gem sticker right on top of the bling ribbon.
To decorate the second candlestick holder, cut 8 purple flowers from the flower mesh and using the hot glue gun glue 4 to the top portion of the candlestick holder. Then glue the other 4 to the bottom of the candlestick holder. This candle holder has 8 sides. I glue one flower then skip a side then glue another flower and skip another side until you glue all flowers. Then glue a single strip of the purple bling ribbon to the bottom edge of the candle holder and another one right above the purple flowers. If this seems confusing please see video for more instructions.
Then using the E6000 glue (or any other strong glue) glue the candle holders to the jars. I also glued 4 purple gems stickers to the bottom of the candle holder for the smaller candy jar.
Final step is to add your favor candy! Here you have two gorgeous candy dishes that you can use for a dessert table at an event or for home decor. Enjoy!
