Creating a Workspace in a Small Area

Our house is a decent size, but it does not have an extra room that I could use for an an office, since I do not want to give up the guest bedroom. So, I usually ended up working on my laptop at either the breakfast bar or the dining room table. Of course this caused a problem, because when we had guests over, I would have to pack up my laptop, mouse, planner, and other crap piled on the table. My goal was to find somewhere in the house where I could steal a few feet to have a proper work space.
My husband built me a beautiful, retro hairpin leg desk! We were able to customize it so it fit perfectly in the small space we had to work with!
I painted the frame of a cork board (that my hubby also made).
I picked up the metal organizer, gold Ampersand, and jar of over-sized paperclips from TJ Maxx on clearance to decorate my desk. The magnetic holder was silver, so I used my Homeright spray shelter and Rust-Oleum spray paint in Seaside to give it a pop of color.
