I found this weird army green shelf, metal for ONE DOLLAR at a sale. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, or even WHY I wanted it, but it called out my name, and I had to get it. Like other projects, it's sits in my craft room, patiently, starring at me, until I finally SEE the light and make it beautiful again. This shelf will have a BRAND new shelf life...and it's beautiful.
This is the metal, army green shelf. Have NO idea what it was used for, but liked the bones on it, so cleaned it up and got started.
Another view.....
I thought a beachy theme was the way to go, so used different shades of chalk paint, in blues, and started painting, two shelves the same color, and then changing colors for the next two, and so on.
Kind of hard to see, but every two shelves is a different color. I was starting to really like it, but knew it needed something more to BLING out the beachy look.
So decided to paint the little wood shelves in other beachy colors, besides blues, to bring it out. Yes, this is what it needed...but still plain, needs more.
And there it is. A little lettering inside the shelves, and some shells glued on, and there she was, restored, in all of her glory. Her new shelf life begins.
Last but not least, decided to pair her up with a sign I'd made previously, ready for my home, as a beautiful pair! Sometimes you buy stuff, not knowing why, but if you look at it long enough, sometimes months, the PICTURE will become clear of what needs to be done. LOVE repurposing things!!!
