More than five years ago, I had bought a pair of vintage Green cane-back velvet chairs from a seller on Craig’s list for $30.
In my view they were perfect for chalk painting project.
I was looking for interesting source of inspirations online, when I came across “ ”. Her descriptions and directions were so clear and thorough, that I decided to begin my project on July 1, 2015.
My selection of flower paintings on the chairs was influenced by the type of flowers I was growing in my garden that year. The entire chairs were painted, except for the cushions. I decided to make new striped fabric covers for the seat cushions.
The process of preparing, painting and upholstering took about two weeks. I made my own chalk paint by using various online recipes.
The chairs are as beautiful as the fresh flowers from my garden. They are available for purchase. Drop me a line if you are interested.
