First impressions do count. Your entry to your home is your home's first impression. Make it a good one by keeping your entry area clean and organized. Add a statement piece of furniture, fresh flowers, a mirror, baskets for shoes and a place for keys, etc. This will help keep clutter under control and your entrance looking gorgeous.
Welcome to my entry! It hasn't always looked so sleek and gorgeous. I have had this table for a while, but the original paint was chippy and stained, making the entire area look depressing.
This was the table before. It is a lovely table, but it had taken its share of abuse. I love these mirrors, but they weren't the right fit for this space, and they were always being bumped and always crooked. Not the first impression I want to make!
I stripped the table using Zinnser natural stripper. It worked great to remove the paint, then I sanded it smooth.
I used a Dark Walnut stain by Minwax and sealed the entire piece with several coats of CeCe Caldwell's Endurance. My husband can spill things on this table, and the stain will be protected. The table looks so much more sophisticated now.
I added this little piece of MDF cut to the size of a bench. Added inexpensive legs and placed two baskets underneath I already had on hand. The two pillows I already had as well and make a nice cushion. My husband's shoes now get stored in the basket instead of all over the floor
