This cutie was on the curb!!! I have a perfect vision of it being Pretty in Pink in a little girl's room for a changing table. So I got to work!
Here is the before of the dresser. As always I use a mixture of water and vinegar to clean it up and then used goo be gone for the stickers then you're ready to paint!!
I love my zinsser 1 2 3 Bullseye primer! It covers any smells and provides a base for your paint.
I then used a dry brush technique where I dip a dry brush lightly into this gray stain and go back and forth all over the entire piece. I call it the Slappy slap method. :)
This is another can of paint that I got from the clearance Shelf at Home Depot! It was a beautiful ballet slipper pink. I painted the entire piece after waiting for the bullseye to dry which it drives very quickly. Then I waited and I did my next step.
I love to experiment with different colors and textures and looks so I kind of made up my own little of Slappy slap technique to add a little color to my pieces. With this particular piece I dry brushed a little bit of the Minwax wood stain in certain places on the piece just to give it a little bit of a rustic but still feminine luck. I'm super happy with the results! This went in a little girl's room for a changing table and I could not have been more excited.
This is the completed piece and its new home! As always feel free to find us on Facebook at Sierra Stars furniture and gifts. Thank you for letting me share my passion with you.
