Ceiling circle cracks

I recently purchased my home 2 months ago and suddenly I have been noticing these small cracks formed as round little circles. It’s in my sons closet and now showing in my living room area. What is this and does anyone have tips for how to repair ceiling drywall?

They are nail pops caused by the sheetrock or wood moving a bit. They're very common after new construction. Pull away the loose material and fill them with drywall compound. It may take a couple of coats, since it tends to shrink when it dries. Sand and touch up with paint.
I agree with Ann of The Apple Street Cottage. Just make sure to use very thin coats of drywall patch.Make the patch as smooth as possible leaving no big bumps or edges. Let dry and sand smooth. Repeat until filled in and smooth. If you use a thick patch, you will be sanding like crazy. Use what I call the "feel" method to see if your patch is level and smooth: close your eyes and run your hand slowly over the patched area. If you can't feel any bumps or ridges, you won't see any after it is painted. Make sure you prime (I use two thin coats.) If you don't prime, you will always see the patched spot when you look from the side. Then paint, feathering the edges of the new paint into the old. I have done this for 40 years and promise your patch job will be invisible. You can see the circles in the photo below where someone patched, but did not prime before painting. No matter how many coats of paint you use, it will not cover unprimed patches.
They look like nail pops, notice how linear they are, here's a link on how to repair:

Yep they are nail pops. At one time ring shank nails were used to secure drywall. Problem is studs and joists would expand and contract with temp changes as wood normally does. So the nails would loosen and pop. Now they use drywall screws. Best solution to prevent this is to hammer the nail back down. Then use drywall screws about one inch away from the nail pop. Make sure you hit a joist. You will need to patch the nail pop and the drywall screw. For minor drywall repairs I use no shrink drywall patching compound. Usually one coat does it. Then use a damp sponge to smooth it out. Prime and touch up paint if you have some.
They probably used nails and they are working loose. I would replace with Sheetrock screws and then mud, smooth with damp sponge, repeat until smooth. Then paint.
They are where the nails or screws are that hold the dry wall in place. scrape out loose and tighten the fastener. perhaps add a second nail or screw (fastener) beside and putty over...

We have these in our house and they haven't gotten worse... but, I haven't taken the time to do what the above commenters have mentioned to fix them. I def. wouldn't worry about them, though. I think it is just all part of the house settling.
Hello Nance, hope these help you out,

They are nail pops. We have them throughout my home, too. They aren't serious. I should take the time to fix the ones in my house! The YouTube tutorials shared above should be helpful. Good luck!
Definitely nail pops. You can fix as above by Betsey. Or you can take the nails out replace with screws then use spackle to cover the hole. Nail pops happen all the time so don't freak out. It is common.

Definitely nail pops some new home builder warrant one complimentary revisit for repairs.
I agree with above comments. Those are nail pops. Thanks for all the great pictures. They really help us understand your problem. Good luck. Merry Christmas.
Hi Nance, those are commonly referred to as nail pops and often appear shortly after building or renovations are completed. The studs have twisted a little as the wood dries causing the joint compound covering the nail loosens and settles. Here's a great video that will show you how to fix it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyf1o1nbTao
We had this happen on the ceiling in our hallway a few months after moving in. Turns out, it's fairly common.
Yep just nail pops, it happens when the home shifts over time. I would remove them and replace them with new sheetrock mud and paint over it.
I agree with the above but recommend you repair it before it falls down. I ignored mine and ended up replacing half the ceiling.
they are probably settling cracks which is normal
Yep agree nail pops from drywall screws, Since its a new house, is it under warranty, call the builder to come fix the drywall. Should just have to scrape off the dried mud, screw the screw in a bit more, re-mud, sand, prime and paint.
These are the nails popping through the drywall or the drywall finish. You need to have the builder come and make this right.
Hi! I'm sure someone else has already mentioned that they are nails that are popping out. If you have no warranty on your home, it is a fairly easy repair. Good luck and stay safe!

Maybe a hole they filled?
Nail pops in your ceiling will eventually allow your ceiling to fall. Use drywall screws into joists JUST! til the screw head breaks the surface. The screwhead should end even or just under the level of the drywall. Compound, let dry, sand level, prime, paint. Pat yourself on the back.
Looks like drywall nails popping out!
Is the house brand new?
As others have said, they're drywall nails. Happened to us after construction settled.
