I’ve seen it staggered like brick in both vertical or horizontal patterns. Herringbone is another option but more difficult to lay. You can spice it up with accent tiles at well.

Brick style - Staggered or One tile long and one tile on end. Chevron , Basket weave, Make a square and use a smaller tile in gap. etc. All on end (staggered), Soldiers. These styles can be done with one colour or more. Have fun!
