Fall Front Porch Decorating On A Budget

I don't know about you but spending tons of money decorating our front porch each holiday season isn't going to happen at my house. I have to get creative, reuse what I have and try to make the space feel welcoming WHILE not spending much. I hope you all are inspired to do the same and if you come up with something creative... drop me a comment and let me know.
Last year, our front porch was in limbo. We still had our misaligned old front doors and the space was just dirty. Over the past year, we've made some smart changes including having our doors replaced (and to be honest, it was pretty darn affordable) and buying a few pieces that can stay on the porch no matter what the season (outdoor rug, bench and mirror).

So, from summer to fall... the budget in refreshing the front porch space was small!! And, to be honest... I'm terrible at keeping outdoor plants alive so I didn't want to buy lots of mums and have them die.
So, instead of buying potted plants, I bought three pumpkins ($10 total) and two FAKE boxwoods (see the link at the bottom of the post for where to buy yours!).
Squirrels were digging like crazy (see my video in my blog post for more on this) in my potted plants. Each day, I would come out and my plants would be ripped out of my planters and dirt strung all over my porch. I had to make some changes. So, I did. I dug out the plants and most of the dirt. In their place, I plopped fake plants and they have been working great!
So besides changing the concrete planters by the door to fake plants and adding the three pumpkins, I raided my closet for more changes. I added a scarf to the end of the bench for some color. I flipped one of the summer pillows around so that it would show the back of the pillow which is a deep Burgundy color. I wrapped an old pillow cover around another of the pillows to get some of the black and white buffalo check in the space as well. It's really amazing how much a space can change without going crazy at a store buying things. I'm already looking at the space for Christmas and trying to decide how creative I can be with what I have.
