Make Your Own Mini Faux Boxwood Wreaths for About $4 Ea (versus $14)

Have you seen the mini faux boxwood wreaths that a lot of bloggers have in their homes? Usually hung on cute little bows or ribbons? At $14-16 ea, I just couldn't fathom paying that much when I needed seven of them. So I searched online and found a product that would allow me to make them for less than $4 ea.
I wanted to hang a little wreath on the front of each upper kitchen cabinet door. I needed seven wreaths. I love the way the green wreath and red bow pops against the white painted cabinets.
I found an inexpensive boxwood garland. (visit my blog link below to get the link where I bought these). Each garland made about (3) 8" wreaths.
I needed a base as the garland was not strong enough to hold its own shape. Wire hangers did the trick. (You could also use a heavy gauge craft wire.)
I cut off the hanger section, and shaped the remainder into a circle. Don't worry if the wire circle isn't perfect. It won't matter once the garland is attached.
Then, I used a 1/4-lb craft wire to secure the cut garland pieces to the wire circle. Could not have been simpler and only took a few minutes per wreath.
I was a bit concerned it would look too...well, "faux."
But after I hung a sweater ribbon hanger from each and placed them over the doors, I was very happy with how they turned out.
