Fiberglass Tub Makeover

Fiberglass tub in a mobile home we purchased was in the worst shape ever. Dirty, grimy and an ugly green color.
We scrubbed it clean. Using a hand sander we carefully went over the surface of the tub inside and out. Lightly. We then sprayed a primer coat of white. Let that dry 24 hours. Next we used a white epoxy paint and sprayed four coats. We let each coat dry 48 hours. Then we let the tub sit for 7 days. Looks like a brand new tub and has stood up to the wear and tear of two kids! Cost was under $50.
Suggested materials:
  • 4 cans white Epoxy spray paint, paint mask, white spray primer, sandpaper.   (Lowes)

Probably - did you use regular Epoxy paint or the one made specifically for tubs? What is difference, other than price?

Would you recommend doing the same process on a full fiberglass insert (shower/tub)?
