Dining Table Makeover

Goodwill $15.00 table
First I had to do some minor repairs
The guys at the store dropped a file cabinet on the edge and fractured the wood. I glued and clamped lightly the brake in the wood.
Filled with a 2 part wood filler and sanded the edge.
A few more minor repairs and time to paint
I ran across a product called Fusion Mineral Paint. It sounded like a great product, so I bought it in Ash.
2 coats of satin water based clear, sand and 2 more coats to finish
Close up of the area I had to repair
Enjoyed the project?

Dunham Design Company on Feb 17, 2017Deirdre, I love trying new paints. I mix a lot of my own colors, finishes, chalks and soda. When I ran accrossed Fusion i decided I would give it a shot. It is a great product, covers well. You do have to prep your piece first, cleaning and sanding. I sand all my projects no matter what the product says, I have found proper prep aids the adhesion and your over all finish turns out cleaner and there is Little to no bleed through from previous finishes. Hope this helped. Thanks so much
