Our condo hallway storage closet looked like a perfect place for Buddy's hangout. Plenty of room for his food and water bowls, his bed, toy basket and wardrobe storage!

Buddy loves his new home and I love the result. Practicing so I can do our driveway in Florida eventually!! Wish me luck!
First the walls were painted SW Functional Grey. Then the floor was rolled with Original Kilz. Next the floor was given 2 coats of SW Alpaca.
The first time you begin a stenciling project you also may experience several frustrating attempts at stenciling the floor. But there is a happy ending. I ended up getting a great stencil from Cutting Edge which made the process much easier. I used white chalk paint in the center, SW FUNCTIONAL Grey for the center motif and graphite chalk paint for the corners.
I found using Martha Stewart sponge dappers was the easiest and neatest way to apply the paint. One for each color.
The finished product was rolled with 2 coats of satin sheen lacquer finish for durability, especially for when Buddy decides to have his friends over to play!
Finally Finished!! Buddy loves his new home and I love the result. Now I think I can do our driveway in Florida eventually!! Wish me luck!
Suggested materials:
  • Kilz Primer, interior paint, skinny roller and paint tray, Lacquer Couture Satin Sheen finish   (I had many of the supplies left from painting our condo.)
