There's always room for organization, but you need time to do it. I finally got my solution for corralling my laundry items.
Here's my mess. The wire basket was temporary and too wide because the lids to the machines could not open fully. Most of the laundry soap (pods) was lined up on the back of the washing machine.
I've used these baskets in my bathroom and love them. Love the look and love that they hold things securely. I bought two long baskets and one a bit smaller, but taller. I apparently didn't pay attention when ordering on line because the smaller basket is a different color. It isn't that noticeable to me, just be careful when ordering.
I asked for help with this project because I'm not that handy with a drill and this procedure requires drilling holes. There was a bit of drama in mounting the shelf on the right because our electrical panel is located on the outside of the house right up against the laundry wall. This meant no long screws could be used. Only one stud was found that lined up with the baskets so plastic anchors (one trimmed a bit because of the panel) were used for all but one of the mounting holes. The screws and anchors come with the baskets, but we had to improvise with our own stash.
See what happens when you get organized? You realize you have enough laundry pods to last for six months or longer!
Hope this inspires you to organize!

Tools needed:

Drill, screwdriver, hammer, stud finder, level
Update! Another trip to Ross scored this wire laundry basket ($8). I was able to store throw rugs and extra cleaning towels in it, instead of them littering the top of my freezer. Much neater and nicer looking and it matches the shelves I added over the washer/dryer.
