Hi Hometalk! The holiday season is coming real soon, and that means time to get started on Christmas decor! Here's a great idea for your home!

Step one: Take your 2x2" piece of wood and paint the entire thing all white. Once the paint dries, use the tape to create a candy cane look. Here's how, simply wrap the tape around the stick till you have 10". Then, using your red spray paint, spray away! (Once it dries and you remove the tape, it'll look like a candy cane!)

The next step is to cut the piece for your base. (Using a 3.5"x4" piece of wood) And then paint it red with your spray paint.

The next thing you'll need is a metal mailbox. I picked mine up at the dollar store. Using a power drill, drill a pilot hole in it!

Then apply a metal screw in the hole and set it down for a minute.

Make pilot hole and use your large 3” screw to secure the base to the post

Then make another pilot hole in the middle of the 2x2 post where you will attach mailbox...

Using your small screwdriver tighten into your pilot hole.

The final step is to tie a festive bow around the post! I used some green and red raffia.

Here is the project all done! Ready for letters to Santa! icon

Here is a few more that I did with a few different mailboxes and different color bases. Hope you like em!
