The first thing that people see when they come to visit you is the front of your house. Even realtors say one of the most important things in a home is “curb appeal”. My husband and I have a beautiful home, but we had let our front lawn get away from us. Yikes! It can be intimidating to try and go from “curb no-deal” to “curb appeal”, but I found that we were able to give our home a bit of a makeover with some quick and easy steps! If I can do it, I know you can too! So I wanted to share these with you! You too can do these easy steps to make the front of your home really pop! Below is a photo of our yard before!Disclaimer: This post was written in collaboration with Worx.

Add Faux Rock Coverings

Our cable and internet connection is right by our mailbox. If you are walking into our house it’s literally the first thing you see! And it is under a dingy green plastic casing that is so shabby looking I’m surprised the garbage men haven’t picked it up! What to do?!?Enter into the scene: faux rock covers! We picked two rock covers up online: just make sure you measure what you want to cover in order to get the right size. Suddenly what was an eyesore is a beautiful rock that looks like it fits in so natural no one will tell the difference!

Front Yard Accessories

If you want to look super cute with the perfect outfit, what do you do? You accessorize! Grab some earrings or a necklace and it makes your look complete! Well the same can be said for the front of your house! The great thing about this is that any accessory will do! I went with a cute bench I picked up from Lowes, and some lanterns as well. Add some festive details with the seasons and holidays (like red, white, and blue for the 4th of July!) and watch your curb pop!

Keep it trim!

Trying to keep trim isn’t just something that’s good for our waistline. It’s also good for your trees and shrubs! Ours was in dire need of a haircut, and what a difference it made once it got one! It can seem hard to get started, but with my husband's help, we were able to trim the bushes, and even get some of those hard to reach limbs off the tree with the help of a ladder. (Little ones coming out to pick up and throw away the trimmings helped too!)

Planters aren't just peanuts!

Flowers and trees can really spruce up the front of your yard. But why not dress those up too? That’s why I love planters! You can pick them up at any store that has an outdoor section, but I thought it would be fun to make some! For a special treat, I even included some glow in the dark resin on the one planter. That’ll make the curb pop even at night!

A Mower for all seasons!

With a husband that has a super busy job, and with me watching our five kids, (and trying to find the time to DIY whenever I can!) one of the things that always seems to get left behind is mowing our yard. No one will notice your beautiful home if all they see is overgrown grass and weeds! Well we found something that made lawn care a breeze! What is it? It’s the Worx Landroid! Think about how awesome it would be to have your lawn mowed whenever you want, worry free, with the push of a button on your phone. Well that’s what this mower does! I will tell you it works AWESOME, it’s so quiet you don’t even realize it’s mowing, and it has made our front lawn the talk of our street! And the best part of it: IT REALLY WORKS! Our lawn looks great, and it looks great all the time! All we have to do is SET IT and FORGET IT and our lawn is as well manicured as if it just got back from a day at the salon!

So those are some tips to get the front of YOUR house from “no thank you” to “curb-tastic”! Happy house sprucing! What do you think!? Hope you like our yard spruce up! You can find more DIY ideas like these planters on my blog letspaintfurniture.com

First off your house looks great!

Does the mower run in all directions like a robot vac or does it run in straight lines?

      Thank you so much Sherri!!

The mower runs within its boundary wire. It goes straight!
