Looking for a quick project that the whole family can enjoy? This DIY s’mores kit is so quick and easy to make, blink and you might miss it! No need to get a campfire up and running to have ooey gooey s’mores at your fingertips. This project will show you how you can make your own DIY s’mores kit in no time with some basic supplies. Check out my step-by-step tutorial below to make one now!
Tools and Materials:
- Tray
- Craft rocks
- Sternos (the heat source used for chafing dishes)
- Gold foil duct tape
- Skewers
- Graham crackers
- Marshmallows
- Chocolate
Step 1: Decorate the Sternos
I wanted to add just a touch of pizzazz to my Sternos, so I went ahead and wrapped them in gold duct tape.
Make sure that whatever you use to decorate them is not flammable as it will be very close to a flame.
I filled in the rest of the tray with craft rocks. These are really just for aesthetic purposes, so there is no right or wrong way to do it.
You could also use one Sterno and place it in a bowl in the middle.
I like using Sternos because the fuel burns very cleanly, so I’m not concerned about any chemicals getting into our s’mores. You can also use coals if you like, just line a flower pot with foil and place the already lit coals inside for an easy way to make s’mores. The advantage of a Sterno is that I can use them indoors, something that I can’t do with coals.
I made a cute s’mores kit for my neighbor with everything you need for an evening of fun and ooey gooey marshmallows and chocolate.
We’ve been enjoying these lately on glamping adventures with the family, but you could even just do this in your backyard for a fun family evening. Do you like s’mores? Let me know in the comments below!
