I'm known for upcycling chandeliers. They are super ugly and therefore just a few bucks at your local Habitat for Humanity ReStores. They are a great way to add a little bit of playfulness around your home.
The chandelier started out in pretty decent shape, all things considered. I simply removed all the light bulbs and electrical from the existing chandelier.
Depending on the age of your chandelier you'll need to remove the light bulb, snip the wires for the electrical and flip the chandelier over to remove the nut that houses the socket. You'll simply remove the nut, remove the socket, and replace the nut so that the landing can hold the solar light.
I kept a little of the existing chain that the previous owner had left on. This allowed me a simple way to hang the chandelier from a tree on my back porch.
