From ORDINARY to EXTRAORDINARY Terra Cotta

I love this project for several reasons. One that it is so fun and two that you can use an everyday ordinary object and turn it into something that is so charming and pretty. Normally you would use your Terra Cotta pots outside but after you create this vintage cafe look they become something you want to keep in your interior home decor. I just love the look. I think you will too.
Here is the list of supplies you will need:
After printing your label I then prepare my pots by giving them a light white wash look with acrylic paint. It will dry quickly.
Here is what your pots should look like after painting.
Here are the mirrored images. Cut out as close to the design as possible.
Spread Mod Podge on to the area of the pot you want your label. Notice the amount of Mod Podge. Not to thin but not to much. This is important. And make sure to have the area the size of the label.
Next place your image onto the mod podge covered area. Make sure to put it on straight. Do not slide around once you have it on. Press down firmly on all of the label to help with transfer of ink. See how it is smooth and fixed on the pot firmly.
After drying over night or longer, run water over the surface of the paper. Completely soak the paper. Start peeling the paper off of the pot. If the paper becomes dry re wet the pot and continue. I had to re-wet the paper area a couple of times to get all the paper removed. I used my finger nail to scrap the paper off, its hard on the manicure, but I do my own so no deal! I stopped getting manicures about 2 years ago. It was ruining my nails and I was spending to much money and time in the salon. AnyWho...back to the pots.
Here is the finished look. If done correctly when finished you should have all the paper removed from the pot label. Once you can't see any remnants of the paper label you know you have it all removed.
Have I told you lately how much I love your comments? Well I lovvvvvvvve them. Thank you!
