Plain Jane Table Can Now Tell Time

My brother-in-law called the other day and said he'd found a table on the side of the road and did I want it. Duh? Of course I did!! It turned out to be a plain black pedestal table. Just painting it a new colour wouldn't do it justice. So I added a clock face design to turn it into something interesting.
The shiny black paint was in good condition. But I knew it would take multiple coats to cover it in a lighter colour. After giving it a light sanding, I painted it in Annie Sloan Graphite.
Originally my plan was to paint two white bands and stencil the numbers in Annie Sloan Old White. I started by making a "compass" by tying string around a pencil and securing it in the middle with a thumbtack. Then it was just a matter of tracing the circles.
Here's the bands done and the stencils ready. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the numbers, but any stencil will do. So far, so good. Until I decided that I would like to add the minute marks - it all went wrong from there - the marks looked awful.
So I sanded down the top, painted the band area completely in Old White and stencilled the numbers in black. Normally I would dark wax Graphite, but I dry brushed the banding with the dark colour and it doesn't need it.
