How Do You Add Animal to a Tray Table?

I have the privilege to join other DIY bloggers each month for a themed furniture makeover. This month's theme through me for a loop. Animal! I thought about it for days. Then decided I didn't need the whole animal, just a piece. But what piece? Then one morning I watched the elk walk up our street. Babies still with spots and males with the beginnings of....antlers!
Antlers. Perfect. I found a tray table that would be perfect for $7.50 at my favorite thrift store. Then drew antlers on the computer. Sent the drawing to my silhouette {machine like a printer but instead of ink uses a blade} to make a stencil.
I'm not great at stenciling but I think those male elk walking up our street would be proud to wear these antlers!
I love the creativity of the furniture makeover group. To see more of the animal themed furniture makeovers, click the link below or search Hometalk for
The stencil. Drawn on the computer, cut with silhouette and ready to stencil.
The thrift store $7.50 tray table.
I cut out a circle to add to the bottom of the tray since the tray was woven. Stenciling is hard enough for me without trying it on weaves!
Completed and ready for the animal themed makeover.
