Angie from The Painted Piano chose Midnight Sky and Belt Buckle metallic cream to refurbish this beautiful, leggy dresser and we love how it turned out!
Sometimes I need to “get to know” a piece before I paint it. I don’t always have a vision for it right away. But as soon as I saw this dresser, I knew exactly how I wanted to transform it. It needed to be blue, and it needed some eye-catching legs.
This dresser was in great shape and didn’t need any repairs, so I jumped right in! I cleaned the surface and barely scuffed it with 220 grit sandpaper to smooth the surface a bit. I used Midnight Sky by Country Chic Paint. I just LOVE how buttery smooth the paint goes on with little or no prep work. All it took was two coats for solid coverage.
I sanded the edges for a subtle worn look, and the body of the dresser was good to go!
Next I moved on to the legs, and I was SO EXCITED! I used Country Chic’s Metallic Cream in Belt Buckle.
I applied it with a sponge brush and found that a little goes a long way! I love how the legs turned out.
The whole dresser is exactly how I imagined it. Classy and eye-catching!
