Organizing My Dresser One Step at a Time...

I have a pretty bad habit of coming home and dumping my keys, sunglasses, and wallet on top of my dresser. But I decided to get organized! The piles of stuff were becoming too messy and it needed to change!!
Makeup, my wallet, and other random things would just be lying around...big no no!
What was even worse was the top drawer- one big clutter of make up!
My first plan of action was to buy some baskets to help de-clutter my things. There's this lovely shop pretty close to me that sells nothing but baskets and wicker made things-it's wicker heaven!! I took a trip there and came home with these two lovely baskets :)
I used this gorgeous one with the handles to hold miscellaneous items such as sunglasses, keys, and my wallet. This way I can still just 'dump' them, but without the mess!
Then I decided to use this one for my makeup. I like to have it handy and out but I was done with the mess! So I first inserted a piece of cardboard to create two compartments.
The bigger side for larger items and the smaller side for lipsticks and other fun stuff :)
I then used my lovely new faux china jar I recently made (check out my last post to learn how) for my makeup brushes. It was too tall to go in the drawer, so I keep it out and it looks so pretty!
My dresser is starting to look really nice and organized! I feel so much better!
And look how nice this drawer looks! Now my things are a bit more tidy and all I did was buy two baskets! I hope you feel inspired to find easy ways to de-clutter!

I love it. I wish I had a basket store.. I'm headed to Hobby Lobby in a bit (New crochet project) They have a nice selection of baskets I'll have to look. I don't have a dresser for my stuff clothes are in those cube shelves in the closet. My coffee table is the dumping ground for stuff. any flat surface in the house gets cluttered almost as soon as I clean it.

I totally get it! It's so easy to just drop things here and there!
