Paige’s Pink Dresser

Angie from The Painted Piano used our limited edition color, pink lemonade to make this the perfect dresser for a sweet little 2 year old girl’s bedroom!
If I had a “before” picture of this dresser, you’d see a bright turquoise dresser with white handles and stickers on it. I love this new version so much better! I painted this dresser for the sweetest little 2-year-old named Paige, and it was fun giving this dresser a makeover with her in mind!
After I cleaned off the sticker residue with rubbing alcohol, I wiped the entire dresser down with TSP (trisodium phosphate) to make sure the surface was clean and ready for paint. That’s it! So little prep work!
Every time I use Country Chic paint, I can’t get over how smoothly it applies to furniture. I’ve used many types of paint, and Country Chic tops them all! It took three coats of Pink Lemonade to cover this dresser, because I was covering a darker color. The key to a nice, smooth surface is to let gravity pull your brush, and to not brush over the paint as it begins to dry. Trust the paint and let it settle. I also make sure to sand with fine sandpaper (320 grit or higher) between coats of paint to ensure a smooth, flawless finish.
Although it looked beautiful painted pink, I wanted to add a little something extra on this sweet dresser. I used a small artist’s brush to apply pearlescent acrylic paint to the edges and details of the dresser. I painted the drawer handles white, and then topped them with acrylic pearlescent paint as well. The difference is in the details!
I topped it all off with Tough Coat to protect the finish. The end result is a beautiful, feminine dresser, perfect for my sweet little friend Paige. I fell in love with this gorgeous Country Chic paint color and can’t wait to use it again!
