Advent Calendars come in all shapes and sizes. This repurposed small parts organizer has just the right sized drawers for small treats and gifts. If you've got one of these hiding out in the garage or basement, give it a little upcycling beauty treatment for a fun Christmas accent.

This vintage small parts organizer has 32 small drawers. More than enough to create an Advent Calendar. Start it's makeover with a good scrub. The plastic drawers can be soaked in a soapy tub of water and scrubbed with a toothbrush. The metal cabinet can be scrubbed with an S.O.S. pad if slightly rusty. Let air dry thoroughly.

To add a bit of fun to the drawers, decoupage old maps to the inside bottoms. The colors of the maps work well with classic Christmas colors.

Print off numbers on your computer and home printer. I have this free printable available in my Insider's Resource Library . See HERE to get them. You could also tape on old game pieces to the fronts of the drawers.

Cut the paper numbers up and tape onto the front of each drawer. Fill the drawers with treats and gifts. The drawers are large enough for a little package. Don't forget your furry friends!

You can put special numbers and a special gift in the drawer for Christmas day. Make this one have special meaning!

This old small parts organizer has never looked so good! Isn't it fun to repurpose and transform something that was totally utilitarian into fun, holiday decor? You don't even need a wall to hang this Advent Calendar on; just set it on a side table somewhere!
