HOW TO TURN YOUR TART TINS INTO COASTERS

4 Materials
Yup thats right....I DID just say tart tins into coasters. The idea came to me when I was organising my very large collection of baking/tart pins in my garage (by the way they are in my garage because I dont actually use them to cook and just like to collect them).

Also seeing these ugly marks around on my furniture really just cemented the idea that coasters where needed in my life.
(Digressing some but I'm not sure if you ever saw my previous post on how I turned a baking tin into a herb planter? If not CLICK HERE TO SEE IT. )

So anyway these are the tart tins I used - they had loose bases which I found really helpful in making these coasters

HOW TO:

The first thing I did was remove the bases from these tart tins (by the way thats what we call them here in UK, I know you guys say tart pans)

Next, with my chosen fabric, I drew around each base and then cut them out with some very sharp fabric scissors

Then using a paint brush, I covered the base of the tin with glue. I then stuck the fabric on top, leaving to dry.

The longer you leave it the better!

Next I coated the top of the fabric with another layer of glue

once that was dry I did another coat with more glue to seal and cut around the edges of the fabric to make a perfect circle!

AND TA-DAA!
