Ok, on a scale of 1-10, how much do you wish this pretty little front porch was yours?
Twelve, right? It's not that the space is big and bright, or that the home exterior is so pretty -the front door looks a little outdated- but that's not why you want it. You want it because of that breathtaking violet clematis growing all over it.
1. Colorful Privacy Fence
Good gardens make good neighbors, or at least that's probably the case with this Hometalker's colorful blend of fence climbers. There are so many varieties and colors of these beauties, that making a bright collage isn't as tough as you would think.
2. Pretty Climbing Combo
With a simple garden trellis, bold star-shaped clematis get to mingle with ruffled pink rose. The combination is a popular crowd pleaser, and great inspiration in case you're considering where to plant your own clematis.
3. Mixed Variety Column
This attractive mixture of 'Nelly Moser', 'Multi Blue' (double flowered), 'Jackmanii' and 'Ville de Lyon', proves that no other vine in the garden flowers quite as exuberantly as clematis. This bunch could brighten up even the darkest corner.
4. Petite Tabletop Planter
For those who live in apartments or find themselves short on garden space, this clematis planter is an indoor dweller. As it grows, the new vines can be tucked beneath the circular base, to keep it looking tidy. (Learn more about getting these planters at Sunset Magazine.
5. Cascading Purple Flowers
Who needs flower boxes when a you can have cascading waves of purple clematis to climb down the walls of your home or the sides of your fences. A sweet and simple fence panel design like this, or even a nice lattice look, lets colorful flowers peek through.
6. Dreamy Cottage Garden
This well-adorned door looks like it could be the entrance to the secret garden, right? Tiny white stars of sweet autumn clematis make the upcoming fall season so much more welcome.
7. Perfect Pergola Walkway
Are you surprised that this glorious clematis-clad walkway belongs to Martha Stewart? Of course not! These blue or purple varieties -her favorites, in fact- abound in her garden in Westchester County.
8. Living Door Decor
If you're going to have an elegant backyard gate way, there's really no other way to dress it to the nines than covering it in bold, purple clematis. Maybe if we wish really hard, this lucky homeowner will send along a clematis cutting so we can start out own!
