I have a customer who was downsizing. She moved from a really cute bungalow style home to a condo. She wanted to give her dining room table a new look. Her condo certainly did not have the same style as her bungalow home. This was a fun project. Helping her to give her new home a stylish look. The was $0.00 cost to me, as it was a commissioned project. All cost was included in the cost to the customer for labor and supplies.
We brought the table over to my shop area and I disassembled it. I am sorry but, for some reason, I lost my head and forgot to take a picture of the table before disassembly. The table was a dark grey.
Another view. After getting the table top set up on saw horses I sanded it down to the bare wood.
The entire table was sanded and painted in white. Using Behr Latex Enamel Eggshell paint I mixed my own chalk paint, using chalk powder. Mixing your own chalk paint is easy and much less expensive. I have had good luck with mixing it myself.
She wanted the table to have a distressed look. After painting and distressing I sealed the table with Johnson's clear paste wax, 3 coats.
It is now in its new home.
