Coffee Table Transformed to TV Unit

For many years we have an ikea tv unit, in a beech effect MDF, but sometimes, much as I hate waste I grow to strongly dislike an item. Over the years my taste for interior decor has changed. Modern televisions are growing in size so the search for a new to us tv unit led to considering repurposing a coffee table.

We found this coffee table in a second hand shop - initially put off by the cane I decided it was vastly preferable to our old unit. To tie in with our living room theme I have updated the table with fusion mineral paint.

The legs and cane are painted with the colour ash, using a circular motion for painting to reach the tricky corners.

The top is painted in Fusion Mineral paint Baby Lamb. Fusion Mineral paint dries in a matter of hours but takes up to three weeks to cure, during that time be super careful not to knock your updated furniture.

The crates I found at a second hand furniture shop, perfect for hiding DVD's!

Great job, your table has a new vintage look and it's beautiful.
