How to make inexpensive magnets with Dollar Tree mini Jenga blocks and a calendar from Dollar Tree. You can make several magnets with a set of blocks and one calendar, so you can make a bunch of magnets for just $2!

I used the blocks and calendars from Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has several calendar designs, but they can be hard to find. You can also find them on Amazon. They are more expensive, but you can make 12 crafts plus use the pictures on the back so it's still worth it. I have all of the supplies listed and where to buy them at my Dollar Tree Calendar Magnets post.

To make the magnets, you will need:

  • Dollar Tree Tumbling Tower game
  • Calendar with images on the back
  • Wood glue or hot glue
  • Mod Podge
  • Adhesive magnet strips
  • Foam brushes
  • Paint brushes
  • Scissors

Start by gluing the wood blocks together. I used three to make a little square. I used wood glue. Hold them for about 30 seconds to give the glue time to set up.

Then cut out the calendar pictures on the back of the calendar.

Use Mod Podge to glue the pictures on the wood blocks. Let dry for about half an hour.

Then apply two thin coats of Mod Podge to seal the top. Let dry between coats.

Attach a magnet strip to the back. You can hot glue it for more support if desired.

They are ready to use! I recommend using a strong magnet if you want to use them to hold papers.
