Making an Outdoor Summer Sign
I love outdoor signs. I have made several for other people but never seem to get around to making any for myself. I was inspired to make myself one by a serving tray I found at Dollarama.
Here is my tray. I love the yellow! It just screams summer. It is 13 inches in diameter, and can be found in the seasonal section of Dollarama. It comes in green and blue also.
I will be using a washable marker, and an oil based paint marker for this project.
I will be using the washable marker to write on my tray. The purpose of the washable marker is if you're not satisfied with how the writing looks you can wipe it off and start over. Stencils can also be used for this project, and if you're looking for inspiration on summer signs the internet has endless options.
Using my washable marker I wrote hello Summer.
I will be tracing over it with my paint marker.
Here is my tray with the writing on it.
I wanted to add some detail to it so I chose this white flower I had saved from a previous project and some of the leaves.
I will be securing the flower with my glue gun.
Once I determined my placement I applied the glue.
I will be using these mounting squares to attach my sign.
The mounting squares are two sided. Place on back of tray and once secured remove the backing from the up side.
Whatever surface you are securing sign to, press in place and hold for about 30 seconds.
Sign complete!
This was a super easy project and I love the way it turned out. Hello Summer!
