My Vertical Blinds are always breaking. So one day I found a way to temporary fix them by using a flat head screwdriver. I take the screwdriver and heat it up on the stove allowing it to melt a hole through the blind for a quick fix.
How to temporary repair your Vertical Blinds with a flat head screwdriver.
Fold the blind placing both ends together.
Take your flat head screwdriver and heated up on your stove until it gets real hot.
Push the hot screwdriver through both blinds using the broking blind as a guide.
Now you created a new hole to the bottom part of your blind.
Now the bottom part of the blind is the one you going to hang up.
Just a quick temporary fix till you go and buy one.
Done :)

Great idea! Now if I could learn how to fix the slats on horizontal blinds I'll be set! Thanks for the tip.

This is similar what I did years ago. To expensive to change out. I just put the repaired one on an end that know one sees because I pull my curtains back. Good idea.
What about the hole that is on the bottom now?
Why don't you put heavy duty masking tape? I Cut the tape the length of the top of the vertical above the hole. I wrap the tape around to the back side leaving the hole open. I do this twice. You don't have to go thrown all that work. Then slip the vertical into the slot and you will have no holes on your bottom vertical. Heat in the room rises and the tape stays safely on.
