This is a project I decided would be fun to try. I took a cardboard box from work. I used 3 types of Rust-oleum spray paint, a stencil and, Never Wet. It's not exactly what I wanted but I learne a lot for next time.
First I covered this with Rust-oleum hammered copper.

Next, I put on the stencil using Rust-oleum metallic oil rubbed bronze.

Then, I used the same stencil but, with the hammered copper and vintage copper
I covered with the Never Wet. Water just beads up and rolls off.

This idea, can be use for may ways. Like your shoe idea with wine dividers for a family, or for order in the linen closet for bed sheets, pillow case, flat and fitted sheets, blankets. Nice.
