You use the headboard for the back and the footboard, cut in 2 pieces, for the sides to make the frame. You can use plywood for the seat if a simple bench or make a box with hinged lid for a storage bench. We never use plans, just use the frame as the guide for measuring. However the link above should give you some guidance. I like to use elmers wood glue and L brackets to affix the pieces.

Hi Sandy.

Use the top board for the back of the bench and cut the bottom board in half and use to form the sides. Hope that helps.

Most bed frames are metal angle iron. One way to re use as a bench will require some tools, Hack saw or a grinder. A drill, bolts, etc. A welder may also be useful. Good luck
