How to Give a Furniture a Worn Look

This is an easy way to distress a furniture and avoid sanding with sand paper.

I hope you like this technic. And if so, I will be happy to read your comments icon

First, clear the furniture and remove any grease or dust.

Paint the whole piece with Natural White. This piece was very shinny so I gave it two coats of white.

Add Structure Powder, you can either add it to the wet paint using the same brush (I did it that way) . Or you can mix the paint with the powder in a separate container.

Once the white paint and powder are dry. Paint the whole piece with Forest Green, btw, this is one of my favorite greens from Vintage Paint.

When the paint is dry but still „ soft“, „sand“ with the wet microfaser sponge in all areas you wish to distress.

Add Natural White with a sponge or a brush. Work per small areas.

Then remove the paint very fast with the microfaser sponge.

Work fast. Paint and remove, paint and remove in such a way that only a little bit of the white color remains settled on the edges and a light layer of translucent white opaques some of the green color.

Wash the microfaser sponge once in a while while the painting process.

When all is dry, remove paint with a putty knife in the areas you wish to distress. Vacum at the same time the paint you are removing so your work area is clean of dust.

Seal with clear wax.

I like to use this waxing sponge from Vintage Paint when I paint small furniture.

I hope you like this way of distressing your furnitures and I would love to listen/read from you about this technic.

I also invite you to follow me on my Youtube Channle and Instagram for more inspiration. The video on hoy I paint this piece is also on my Youtube. The link is below.

LOVE from Switzerland.
