DIY FRUGAL BATHROOM RENO: UPDATING AN OLD VANITY

"They recycle their old, ugly bathroom vanity, and the result is stunning!"

The thing that got the ball rolling on this whole bathroom reno was this sink.
To the casual observer (i.e. every single guest whose ever had a piddle at our house), it would seem that we thought cleaning was optional and that we butted out our smokes on the countertop...
We do clean on occasion and don't smoke.  Our sink told a different story.  It was stained and chipped and awful.
[During our DIY frugal bathroom reno, we also updated our very outdated medicine cabinet! You can check that out, here.]
We entertained thoughts of changing out the vanity for a pedestal... But we decided it would be cheaper and more interesting to work with what we've already got.  The vanity was staying.
I primed and painted the vanity, doors and drawers on the porch. (Normally you wouldn’t need to remove the vanity - but we had some plumbing fixes that necessitated it.) After three coats of paint on the vanity, drawers and doors, she was done!
We installed our new sink and countertop, and the transformation actually ended up being huge! Everything looks light, bright and airy, fresh and clean!
[To finish off our reno, we installed Peel and Stick Vinyl Flooring to help give it a more polished look!]
