Ordering a Christmas Centerpiece with roses from a florist will cost close to a hundred dollars. I make mine for about $17. a piece. I make several to give to family and friends. It also makes a really nice hostess gift. I get my roses from Global Rose.com and they were $83.00 for 100 medium stem red roses. You can pick the exact delivery date. Amazon also sells for global rose.com

This is the finished centerpiece

Start out with a plastic tray from dollar store. A brick of floral wet foam from Amazon. I got 24 bricks for $28. Green florist tape from Amazon and dollar store wine glasses

Start by cutting out section of the floral foam About 2 1/2” by 3/4” by about an inch deep. Don’t discard it

Next make a slit in the side of the floral foam and push the bottom part of the wine glass into the foam

Push the small piece that you cut out back into place

Place on plastic tray and tape it with floral tape. Pour water that has been mixed with the packet of rose nutrients into the tray. It will absorb quite a bit of water.

Cut your roses on a slant about 5” long if you are planning on using a dozen roses. They can be a little longer if you are planning on a larger centerpiece with more roses

Stick your roses in the foam as shown. Start with one on each end. Then one in the middle on each side, then one in between. For a total of 8 roses

Then add 2 more on top on both sides of the wine glass. This will set up the foundation of the centerpiece.

Just start sticking filler stems of greenery in between and below roses. When I was in the Philadelphia area I had lots of holly bushes and evergreens that I had in my yard. Now that I am in Florida I substituted the leaves from my ficus trees that are about as close to the look of holly and used fern that looks like a maiden hair fern. I like to use greenery from my yard to cut down on the cost.

Adding the fern. Don’t worry about filling up every little space.

Next I added a Christmas plaid bow and a pine cone.

Finishing touch a little babies breath and a candle. Looks as good as anything from a florist shop. Merry Christmas
