Old Cracked Charger Plate Into a Home Decorative Platter
I use chargers a lot during the holidays. While I was going through and checking them, I realized I have a few that were cracked and looked shabby. This is what I did with one of the chargers. Check out what I did with the other one: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/christmas/how-to-make-an-affordable-diy-candle-holder-44361211
This is what the charger looked liked before I started. Here are the items I used for this project. It is listed below. You probably have these items in your craft area already.
I first added the Mod Podge glue to the front of the charger and pressed down the fabric to remove the bubbles. Let dry completely. Then, I turned it over and added the glue to the back. I worked my way around the plate and folded and glued the fabric to the back. I then glued the edges of the fabric to the plate. I let it dry completely.
This fabric is pretty thin, so it was easy to fold on top of itself.
Here's what it looked like when it dried.
Then, using the hot glue I ran a bead of glue and added the ribbon around the edges of the BACK of the charger, and made sure that the cotton balls showed on the front side.
This is what the finished back looked like after the ribbon was added.
Here is how it looked after the ribbon was added!
I decided to use it as a base for my electric candle.
I also tried to use it to hold my remotes on the coffee table. I'm so glad I was able to repurpose this cracked charger plate.
