DIY Old Dresser Update

I know painted furniture isn't for everyone, and that's ok. I would no sooner bash your choice to leave a piece wood than I'd expect you to bash me for choosing differently - I just wasn't raised that way. Wood colored furniture isn't for me. I have a pretty dark house, due to the layout and window positioning, and big heavy wood pieces adds to the tomb-like atmosphere - so, I paint things and add my own personal touch!
I picked this piece up from my grandma when she downsized her house last summer. She'd picked it up at a yard sale months before, and had wanted to strip & refinish it, but no longer had space to keep it.
I had no idea how painful this process was going to be when I started painting these door fronts - luckily I'm patient, and spread the task out over several days.
I love the difference when I finally finished!
And loved it even more after I got them all reinstalled! Head on over to the blog to see the final makeover, and the surprise insides!

Chrystine Dimitry on Dec 30, 2014Okay, you know what? I'm not usually a fan of painted wood (although I've been known to do it on occasion), but this turned out brilliantly. Well DONE!!
