A Dresser Gone Glam
by
The Painted Drawer by Suzanne Bagheri
(IC: blogger)
I took an old dresser that had been treated poorly and gave it a much needed makeover. The deep scratches along the top were filled and sanded, the hardware polished and the piece was given two coats of General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint. I added their high performance topcoat in flat for extra protection.
Here is the "before" pic. The dresser had deep scratches along the top and missing drawer pulls. Great lines, though!
Here is the "after". I used General Finishes Lamp Black and GF High Performance Topcoat in flat.
I also did some light distressing to show off the detail and used Brasso to shine up the brass hardware. I love how the brass looks against the black.
The top had deep scratches but after sanding it back and adding paint and sealer, it is gleaming.
A dresser gone glam!
