DIY Kitchen Open Shelves

There is a beautiful window in my kitchen and I kept thinking it was too pretty to be covered with a curtain so after a lot of thinking I figured a few open shelves would look nice on either side of the window.

I headed to Home Depot and picked up some plywood. I believe the length was about 16 inches and I had them make three 4" cuts leaving me with four shelves for about $15

I knew I wouldn't be placing anything very heavy on the shelves so I chose brackets that could handle a little weight, they were very inexpensive. I made sure to screw them into the studs on the wall for extra support.

The hardest part of the project was measuring perfectly to ensure the brackets were in the studs.

Was kind of over looking at this blank white wall. I wanted something to highlight the window
I headed to Home Depot and got a 16" piece of plywood that I had cut into 3 pieces leaving me with 4 shelves.
I change a few of them up seasonally
