Can you believe Valentine’s Day is Monday? I decided to make an easy DIY 3D heart framed artwork for this special occasion.

If you love to paper craft, you will enjoy this project. It is super easy! In a matter of 15 minutes, you can create custom artwork for your home.

Let me show you how!

EASY DIY 3D HEART FRAMED ARTWORK TUTORIAL

First take your heart, with the script paper trim out a heart that is a little bigger than your wooden heart. Remember you can always cut out a heart shape using cardboard.

We cut the paper a little larger than the heart to allow for any shrinkage. The Modge Podge can cause some shrinking in certain papers.

Now apply a generous amount of Modge Podge over the entire heart.

Add the paper over top of the Modge Podge.

Let the hearts dry for approximately 10 minutes.

CUTTING THE PAPER

While the hearts are drying, let’s cut the paper for the frame. The measurement to cut for your paper will depend on the size of your frame or if you have a mat.

My frames with the linen mat could hold a 4 x 6 photo. I cut my paper 4 1/2 x 6 1/2.

Added some adhesive to each side. Just enough to hold the paper.

It should line up like in the photo.

With your scissors trim the paper around the heart.

Now wipe either a sanding block or sand paper around the edges of the heart will remove any extra paper. It can also be used to add some distressing to the heart too.

PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER

Since I am preparing two frames, I have them side by side. This way, I can line up my hearts the same.

Across the back of each heart add strip of adhesive. Find the center of your paper and press down the heart. Repeat for the second frame.

Now they are ready to be place in a frame and displayed.

See how easy it is to make your own custom one of a kind artwork. In this photo, I have them hung on the wall.

Another way is to display your 3D Heart Framed Artwork on a small easel. You can even display your art on a bathroom vanity.

This is a super easy and fun project. You can make beautiful artwork for your home or to give as gifts. The best gifts are the ones made with love and with your own hands.
