Spider Spells Book Tutorial

An old discarded book, a glue gun, a little paint, and a cup of coffee yield this fun Halloween accent.
This project is simple and fun.
Use a discarded book as your base. Use a hot glue gun to write your book title. I wrote "Spider Spells".
Paint the book with DecoArt Chalky Finish paint in Carbon. Since I am dry brushing, paint coverage does not have to be perfect.
I dry brushed white and purple on until I like the look.
To age the edges, I mixed hot water, instant coffee and cinnamon.
Then I dunked all the pages. I put it on a tray to dry in the sun and fanned the pages every couple hours to encourage them to dry wavy.
I love that it is spooky but not creepy. Happy Halloween!
