I am so excited to show you guys my latest project. These DIY Song Bird Ornaments turned out better than I imagined and I just love them. Again, I chose a couple of my favorite songs from The Beatles and can’t wait to give these away. I used paper mache birds from Hobby Lobby for this project and hopefully get my hands on some more because I have a few more I’d like to make.

Start by painting your bird with craft paint.

Decide on the song lyrics and start painting on your bird. If it’s easier for you to write on the bird with a Sharpie, that works also. I just picked a spot and started adding lyrics, working around the bird. Let the paint dry completely and then cover with a layer of Mod Podge.

When the Mod Podge was dry, it was time to figure out how to hang the bird. I stuck a thumbtack into the stop I wanted to hang my bird from.

I made a couple of bows with ribbon and tied two pieces of embroidery floss into hoops for hanging.

I stuck a small finishing nail into the knot in the embroidery floss, added hot glue over the hole on the ornament and pressed the nail into the ornament.
