I've never been a trendy person but I do love the metallic spheres or orbs I see so much of and wanted to get a few. I then found out they were a little more than I wanted to spendicon ! The ones in the first pick are around $40, they are small, so I hacked them for $4.57 was my total!icon
Here's what I made...
So pretty ,huh?!
This is the material I used to make the spheres. Foam balls of various sizes, sparkly ribbon/trim/sequins and hot glue! My mom sent me a big box full of crafting material and that is just some of the things she sent me!icon all that trim (free)! The foam balls I bought at walmart for $4.57 last spring. Been saving 'em for awhile now, time to be used!icon
This gold sequin is the biggest one! I did this while watching TV one night, the other three the next night.
And four balls finished!icon That took longer than I thought it would to wrap some trim around a ball but worth it!

Now something to put them in...
this bowl will be perfecticon
I just have to paint it another color and I choose
copper to match the spheres!
The bowl was wood but now it looks like hammered copper!

If you noticed I only showed you four spheres above, well the other two little ones I made into ornaments for the Christmas tree!
All the spheres were made the same way just with a different type of trim. You start by hot gluing one end of the trim down on the ball, just the tip. Let it dry for a couple seconds so it is on it, then slowly circle around the glued end.
Continue to wrap the trim around while applying more glue to ball as you wrap.
The wrapping can be tedious! But they are so pretty when you're finished!icon I left about 3 inch on the end to loop into the hanger for each ornament. I also want to add a bit more embellishment to them.
I painted a couple of beads silver to use. Another long night with wrapping but I do love them!
And now all is finished!icon I will hang the new ornaments on the tree this weekend coming up!!
The metallic spheres are already out and that is something I will keep out all year! I think I will make a stand for the bowl out of a large wood candlestick I have but not sure yet, still thinking on that part. icon
Love 'em all and thanks for looking at my new metallic spheres and ornaments!
I also all love all comments and questions! icon

In the close up of the smaller balls, one looks like a golf ball. I got excited thinking all I had to do was paint a golf ball lol.
